" YAVAZ
can turn an old standard into an in-your-face merengue, a rock tune into a
dance-in-your seat salsa & Miles Davis' melancholy 'So What' into a
white-hot mambo."

The
music of YAVAZ
explodes with a fire and passion that is unsurpassed!
YAVAZ
has a Latinized Jazz sound all their own.
From familiar favorites to
their compelling originals, they deliver
an exciting performance that appeals to everyone from six to sixty. Since their debut in 1993, YAVAZ
has shared the stage
with such greats as Joe Sample, Michael
Franks, Rick Braun, Tim Weisberg,
Everett Harp and Stanley Turrentine.
These upbeat musicians have fun
with the audience while at the same time producing a tight, professional sound. Their charismatic personalities are the key that
captures their audiences during a live performance. Whether it's a club, convention, concert or private
party, YAVAZ's
high-energy entertainment gets the audience into the music, dancing, fun and
excitement that brings them to their feet.
Their self-written "Sea of Cortez" CD
which features Jaime
Valle, Tommy Aros, Bruce Cameron and Bill Shreeve just to name a few, invites abandon and calls for a party right in your living room.
Performing at Croce's Jazz Bar
in San Diego's Gas Lamp District, one of the most traveled to tourists areas in
the U.S., has given YAVAZ a unique national exposure. People
from all
over the U.S. and
abroad that stop in to hear the band, inevitably buy a CD and take it back home.
Carlos Duarte, a Tijuana radio personality said "I've never seen anything
like it. When I play a song from their album, I get flooded with calls...my
listeners can't get enough of them."
